Connecting with the Community

St Marks Monster Garage Sales – March and September each year

The St Marks Garage Sales are a community outreach and fund raising activity run twice yearly in March and September.  Strong linkages have been developed with those in need and 50% of  the profits of each Garage Sale are donated to specific charities.

Bargains galore are available.  Assisting the reuse of  various usable goods is a positive outcome environmentally,  while assisting those in need and the church’s mission through funds raised at the garage sales is a great and very important outcome.

Location:  St Marks Church grounds and hall – corner of Springwood and Hicks Streets, Mt Gravatt.

St Marks Uniting has supported the Outback Links program run by Frontier Services in 2010 and 2012.  The 2012 trip had 4 families travel to a property near Charleville to support a family property in need.  Maintenance, cleaning, building, and general farm work was provided to the property.

Overseas Mission – Thailand

A group of young adults conducted an overseas mission trip to Thailand in 2010 to support and work with orphans.  The trip was for 2 weeks and was extremely rewarding for the children supported and the team who went to Thailand.
